Culinary Adventure: A Draughte of Londoun Ale: British Medieval Ales

  • Archaeology Now P.O. Box 271062 Houston, Texas, 77277 United States (map)

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE WOMEN”S INSTITUTE OF HOUSTON

Teleport to Merrie Olde Englande courtesy of a Houston micro-brewery! Your brew adventure includes a tour of the facilities of Walking Stick Brewery, the only air-conditioned brewing facility in the US. You will meet the brewers to learn how a “British” ale is produced in Houston,. Then, as the sun begins to set and the air cools, feast on a dinner of fish and chips with several other British options accompanied by a pint of ale. The afternoon culminates in a talk featuring archaeologist and brewmaster Lucas Livingston, beamed in from the Chicago Brewseum, who also happens to be one of the stars of the Archaeology Now YouTube series “Uncorked.”
