A Medieval Musical Journey: Chant from Notre-Dame de Paris

Ensemble Organum

Medieval Music from Notre-Dame de Paris

MUSIC and PRECONCERT TALK

Experience the beauty of medieval music from Notre-Dame de Paris.

Music meets architecture. Perhaps at no other time in history did composers who worked at Notre-Dame de Paris create music in response to architecture as it was being fashioned! They were stretching space and sound to allow for a flamboyant artistic expression and communication between music, architecture, and light that gleamed through stained glass windows.

Treasures of medieval music are revealed in a performance by the world-renowned Ensemble Organum under the direction of Marcel Pérès
